Dr. Harry Glen, MD, CMO
Dr. Glen is the first principal investigator to have performed the Opti-K™ procedure for the US FDA clinical trial. He has presented his findings in international symposia and publications. As a comprehensive, general ophthalmologist in clinical practice, Dr. Glen recognized the advantages of minimally and non-invasive technologies in reducing complications, side effects, discomfort, and recovery time which, consequently, led to his interest in furthering development of the Opti-K™ procedure.
Dr. Glen is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Center for Sight where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his undergraduate work at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he received his BA degree in biology with honors. Dr. Glen’s medical degree is from The Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with externships in dermatology and ophthalmology at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary respectively. A flexible medical internship was completed at the New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina. Dr. Glen has a 5-Star Rating and a Patient’s Top Choice Award in US News and World Report.
Dr. Glen is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Stephen D. Klyce, PhD, FARVO
Dr. Klyce received his Ph.D. in Physiology (vision research) from Yale University in 1971. Between 1972 and 1979 he based his professional research career in Ophthalmology at Stanford University. In 1979 he joined the faculty at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, where he conducted research in corneal physiology and biophysics. He was a Professor of Ophthalmology and Anatomy/Cell Biology at LSU and Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University until July 2008. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He serves as a consultant and/or board member to a number of industries in ophthalmology, is the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) ANSI representative, an expert for the International Organization for Standardization, ISO/TC172 Optics and Optical Instruments, SC7, and chairs the ASCRS Telemedicine Task Force Committee. He has received over 25 scientific honors including the 1990 CLAO Everett Kinsey Lecture, the 1991 International Society for Refractive Surgery (ISRS) Lans Distinguished Lecturer in Refractive Surgery, the 1991 American Academy of Optometry Max Schapiro Memorial Lecture, the 1996 American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Whitney Sampson Lecture, the year 2000 ASCRS Innovator Award, the International Society for Contact Lens Research (ISCLR) 2003 Ruben Medal, the 2007 ISRS/AAO Casebeer Lecture Award, the 2008 Research and Innovation Award, Italian Refractive Surgery Society, the 2009 Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Gold Fellow Award, the 2010 ISRS/AAO Barraquer Award, the 2016 Journal of Refractive Surgery Waring Medal for Editorial Excellence, and the 2023 AECOS Visionary Award. He serves on the Editorial Boards of a number of scientific and clinical journals and is an active member of several professional societies including ARVO (Past President), the International Society for Eye Research (Past Councilor), and the ISCLR (Past President). During his career he has participated in the development and commercialization of a number of pioneering ophthalmic devices (hardware, software, and optics) including diagnostic instruments and refractive surgery lasers. He has over 500 publications in the areas of corneal physiology, topography, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Klyce lives in Port Washington, NY, with his wife. He enjoys tennis and sailing (Past Commodore, NOYC). He is active in a number of civic organizations.
Marguerite B. McDonald, MD, FACS
Dr. McDonald, born in Chicago, Illinois, received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1976, followed by an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital and ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital/Cornell, both in New York City. She finished her training in 1981 after a fellowship in corneal and external diseases with Dr. Herbert E. Kaufman at the LSU Medical School in New Orleans.
From 1981 Dr. McDonald held tenure at LSU Medical School and became Full Professor of Ophthalmology, Director of the Corneal Service, and Chairman of Promotions and Tenure before she established the Southern Vision Institute in New Orleans in 1994. She joined the Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island in New York in 2006. Currently, she is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University in Manhattan and a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans. She is a staff physician at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital; TLC in Garden City, NY; Island Eye Surgicenter in Carle Place, NY; and Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY. She has been active in research having been PI on several NEI R01 research grants. She was instrumental in the development of several refractive surgical procedures including epikeratophakia, synthetic keratophakia, epi-LASIK, and conductive keratoplasty (CK). Her current research continues to focus on refractive surgery and dry eye treatments.
For her pioneering work in refractive surgery that also included development and performance of the first excimer laser procedure in patients, she has received over 90 professional recognition awards including the ISRK Lans Distinguished Refractive Surgeon Lecture, the ISRK/AAO Barraquer Lecture, the AAO Whitney Sampson Lecture, the AAO Binkhorst Lecture, the ASCRS Steinert Lecture, induction into the ASCRS Hall of Fame, and 2023 AECOS Visionary Award. She serves on numerous Editorial Boards of clinical and scientific journals and is an active member of multiple national and international professional societies that have accorded recognition including: Honorary President, Founding Member, International Association of Women Eye Surgeons; President, Association of Women Eye Surgeons; President, ASCRS; President, ISRS/AAO; and President, International Society for Contact Lens Research. She has over 1,800 publications and a number of patents in the fields of cornea and refractive surgery.
Dr. McDonald lives in Port Washington, NY, with her husband. She enjoys tennis, swimming, and walking. She has been active in a number of local and national charitable organizations.

George Aubrey, Chairman of the Board, CEO, President
George Aubrey is an entrepreneur. His business acumen began in 1965 with the design and construction of Aubrey’s Dubbs Dred Golf Course Inc. where he is the current President. The course was recognized in Golf Digests “Best Places to Play in North America and the Islands” for (4) consecutive years. George is a retired member of the PGA (Professional Golfers Association). He organized and is President of Aubrey Financial Services Inc., an Insurance and Securities Brokerage Firm combined with legal, accounting, and TPA associations for creative estate planning and tax advantaged wealth preservation concepts and vehicles. George also organized, owned, and was the principal researcher in several medical research laboratories and a large investor in medical device companies.
In the late 1990’s George and a good friend, Bob Werra, focused on laser eye surgery for the treatment of hyperopia (far sightedness) as investors. Unimpressed with the results, Bob started NTK Enterprises, sourcing top doctors and scientists to design a new laser and procedure. After many designs and much testing, the Opti-K™ laser evolved for the temporary treatment of presbyopia (loss of sight clarity with age).
In 2021 George and Nancy Werra teamed up to complete the FDA requirements toward commercialization. George added some key professionals and solidified a team of scientists, medical, regulatory, and financial consultants and formed VIS LLC which acquired the patent and all assets of NTK Enterprises. The VIS team completed the FDA (feasibility study) Phase I and II, and on April 20, 2023 the FDA granted VIS an Investigation Device Exemption (IDE) to proceed with the Opti-K™ Phase III pivotal study, the final phase of the Opti-K™ FDA clinical trial.
Don Schwall, CCO, EVP, Secretary
Don received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. Having already worked in the investment industry as an intern at E.F. Hutton, Don immediately joined PaineWebber upon graduating, and as a trading and trust specialist went on to achieve the highest return on assets in 1998.
In 1999 Don moved to San Francisco and joined the .com boom, taking the public company he directed as Division COO, Cosmoz.com, to a nine-figure market cap on the OTCBB before exiting in 2001. After divesting with two other key executives, together they began what became eMerge Solutions, an investor and public relations firm working with dozens of client companies globally. As client networks and referrals grew, so did the firm’s offerings in Don’s division, which began to include valuations, data room builds, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and business development, in other words, full corporate development.
As the markets began to shift, a need for corporate development and M&A arose so Don launched Completion Capital in 2010, providing buy-and sell-side pre- and post-LOI negotiation and support. This led to corporate restructuring and commercialization opportunities in the automotive and defense sectors with a Germany-based lithium-ion battery manufacturer commercializing through sector leaders (i.e. VW, Porsche, BMW, NASA, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, ThyssenKrupp). Don co-managed their takeover, consolidation, restructuring, and sale to one of the largest lead acid battery manufacturers in the EU. This was followed by an Asia-based automotive parts manufacturer corporate supply chain restructuring transaction Don directed including top-10 global automotive powerhouses (i.e. Ford, GM, CAMI, Toyota, Subaru), culminating in a substantial increase in valuation, new contract manufacturing revenue, a significant reduction in both COGS and debt (restructured), and an offer from a US-based public company.
In 2018 Don’s focus returned to mergers & acquisitions in healthcare and as a team he and his partner closed nine figures in healthcare transactions in under three years. This effort led to corporate development and M&A in various sectors including biopharma and medical devices. As a result, in 2021 Don’s firm Mindful M&A was hired by NTK Enterprises, Inc. to value, package, and lead the merger of NTK Enterprises, Inc. with VIS LLC. Since that time Don has been an integral part of VIS LLC leading corporate development, M&A, and sales & marketing as Secretary, Chief Commercial Officer, and EVP.
